meh

Posted : 17 years, 6 months ago on 3 October 2006 10:13 (A review of The Ladykillers (Widescreen Edition))

tom hanks... tisk tisk. i loved you in big, and thought you were awsome in Joe vs the Volcano, but this is not your best choice in a film. but you did play a great character.

i have mixed feelings about this movie. i did enjoy it while i was watching it, but then afterwards i felt like it wasnt as good as i first thought it was.

again a case of remaking a bad movie into a newer version of a bad movie.

not that great

Posted : 17 years, 6 months ago on 3 October 2006 10:08 (A review of Parasite)

this is just a cheesy and full of holes film. if youre willing to put asside the fact that the characters lack any kind of history or proper motivation. and the monsters have no explination of where they came from. then you might enjoy a nice bag of microwave popcorn and have a bad movie night. but i have to say, i love bad movies but still rate them acordingly.

talk about missleading

Posted : 17 years, 6 months ago on 3 October 2006 10:05 (A review of Deadly Species)

cover has nothing to do with the film, the DVD menu has nothing to do with the film. its about the fountan of youth, native americans, monsters and scientists. not a scifi moster flick that the cover and DVD menu lead you to beleave.

Finnier than scary

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 03:18 (A review of The Shaft)

The shaft isn’t one bad mother “shut your mouth”. Its just bad movie about a killer A.I. elevator. This movie is funnier than scary. A great scene is where a rollerblader gets sucked into the elevator at basement level. Then spit out at top floor only to plummet down the ground level off the side of the building. It was awesomely bad. More of something you’d expect from the Outer Limits, but doesn’t work as a movie.

awsome show

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 02:38 (A review of Home Movies - Season One)

Not much to review here, because this is a great show. A lot of people don’t like the dialogue because it’s extremely close to how people actually talk. In real life people don’t take turns talking, they interrupt and fumble the word they’re looking for. This brings a great back and forth humor between the cast.

One problem though… Squiggle vision. The first few episodes were insanely squiggly. I'm glad they got it fixed as they went along, because that could cause headaches watching a marathon.

Kick ass show and sad to see it go.

dont look too much into it

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 02:33 (A review of High Tension)

I have never seen a movie with more plot holes ever. The plot was trying to be creative and clever, but all it did was create a bunch of confusing points in the movie. Many of which are self defeating based off the end. Looking back after seeing the end, the movie as a story makes absolutely no sense. But the title brings what it promised; this movie is quite stressful and is in fact full of High Tension. Everything up to the last 10 minutes of the movie was great.

The ending was like seeing someone run 100 yards to the end zone and take a tumble with 1 yard to go. It was all good up to that point. The ending would have been a good “alternate ending” for the DVD. The kind you see and go “oh yeah I can see why they didn’t use that ending” but in this case they did use it.

Besides the ending this was a great movie.

dont let the cover fool you

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 02:23 (A review of The Bunker)

The bunker isn’t about zombies or even dead people. It’s just a normal psychological war movie. The “German” soldiers are played by British actors who don’t even try to hide their accent, so you have to remind yourself these are German soldiers. It’s a bad movie that could have been good. No or little character development. And the story is even less developed. The movie is about Paranoia and Distrust amongst a group of soldiers seeking refuge in a bunker being advanced on by the enemy. I'm still not sure what the purpose behind the guilt the main character felt and what it had to do with what was going on. It was just a little confusing because they focused on the flashbacks as if they were important and integral to the plot. But at one point you will realize there isn’t a plot and none of it matters. Watch it, don’t watch it, you will feel the same either way. This movie brings nothing to think about so don’t try.

horrible... this left a (title) in my mo

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 02:15 (A review of Bad Taste)

Bad taste… where do I start. I'm not going to be like many of the fan boys who absolutely love all of Peter Jackson’s movies, and praise this movie because it was made by Peter Jackson. This movie was just horrible. A classic? Yes, why not. But good? Hell no. it reminds me of the many Troma ‘B’ movies. There are some funny moments. I understand Jackson making a horrible movie on purpose. But it still makes it horrible.

I'm not saying not to watch this, if you have it or know someone who has it, you must watch it. And when it’s over ask yourself “This is the guy who made LOTR and King Kong!?”

I give this a low rating because I'm not going to lie and hype it up for the fact its Peter Jackson… if anything I'm being nice on the rating. But I would suggest anyone see a movie that is this bad. It makes you respect the movies you thought were just ok.

As a suffering insomniac it was alright

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 02:06 (A review of An Insomniac's Nightmare)

As a suffering insomniac, this movie is close to how it really is. Not much story if any, but more of a look into how it’s like to have insomnia. Nothing makes sense in the movie, giving the perspective of distorted reality and loss of time. If Michael Gondry made this movie it would be 100x better. My insomnia is sometimes like a Gondry video. This movie is a nice 30 minute short. If you suffer from insomnia and people don’t understand, this may be a good insight for them. But I’d suggest the Machinist for a good insomnia movie.

not how it sounds

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2006 02:01 (A review of Alien Hunter)

When I heard “alien hunter” I thought of guns, flame throwers, soldiers in a disserted compound fighting a super race of alien soldiers. Well in fact “Alien Hunter” refers to a nickname for SETI (Search for ExtraTerresrial Intelligence) scientists. So don’t expect something like Alien or Aliens. Think more of Mission to Mars. Something that’s a little more light hearted mystery. The Aliens look exactly like those from Independence Day. And the story feels like short Sci-Fi story form the 70’s. if your willing to put aside underdeveloped characters and slow story, its an ok movie. But if your looking for the next Sci-Fi classic, try looking some ware else.
